Established in May 2008 through the merger of the Department of Private and Community Law and the Department of Business Administration — initially under the name Department of Law and Economics of Production Activities — it adopted the name Department of Law and Economics of the Enterprise in February 2025, a title that more precisely reflects its academic focus and scientific mission.
The Department fosters ongoing dialogue between legal scholars and business economists — while upholding freedom and autonomy of thought — through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates teaching, national and international research, and third-mission initiatives.
The Department is located within the Faculty of Economics, spanning two floors:
- Second floor — faculty offices, library, academic affairs office, administrative offices, "Salvatore Pescatore" classroom, and "Umberto Navarrini" room;
- Third floor — faculty offices, computer lab, and "Pietro Onida" Conference Hall.
